Stage 5 of 16

Day One

The body remembers water

Sensation & Softening

Today's Intention

Let your senses lead. The mind can rest鈥攖he body knows how to be here.

"The first full day is a kind of forgetting. You forget what day it is. You forget to check the time. Your body begins to remember something ancient about tide and light."

Gentle

Grounding, sensory prompts to ease into reflection

馃憗 Sense

Walk barefoot for at least ten minutes. What do your feet notice that your eyes miss?

Remove your shoes now

馃憗 Sense

Find a spot where you can hear waves. Close your eyes and listen until you can distinguish at least three different sounds within the water.

Spend at least 5 minutes listening

馃珋 Body

Wade into the lagoon until you're waist-deep. Stand still. Feel the water's warmth, the sand shifting beneath your feet, the tiny currents. Let your body be part of the sea.

Stay in the water for at least 5 minutes

馃憗 Sense

The reef is alive鈥攅very color is a creature. Go snorkeling or look through clear water at fish. Pick one fish and follow only it. What is its day like? What is it worried about?

Spend time watching reef life

Reflective

Emotional and relational explorations

馃挱 Reflect

How did you sleep? What visited you in dreams? Even fragments matter.

馃珋 Body

Your body has been armored by everyday life. Where do you feel it beginning to soften?

馃寫 Shadow

What habit from home have you already noticed yourself doing automatically? Watch it without judgment.

馃挱 Reflect

Find a hermit crab. Watch it move. It carries its home everywhere it goes. What would it feel like to need so little? What would you keep if your home had to fit on your back?

Deep

Challenging questions for those ready to go further

馃摉 Story

If you could send one feeling from this moment back to yourself from three days ago鈥攖he self who was packing and worrying鈥攚hat would you send?

Your Reflections

These prompts are for you alone. Write in a journal, speak them aloud, or simply let them move through you. There is no right way to reflect.
